& how sweet it is @ the CupCards to go reveal tonight. We, all, have shared how much we absolutely loved working with this kit & I think the gallery will show you, in pics, what we have described in-words & sneak peeks, a card kit FILLED with gorgeous papers, trims, embellies, kraft & specialy cards(even a grocery sack, how cool is that?) & awesome, awesome envelopes. This entire kit screams fun, party & girls, but wait, there is also room for the boys, the Melissa Frances rubs said so.....giggle.
We, all, created so many things with this kit & I am so excited to begin to share mine with you up close, with tutorials & tips here. (you can see ALL my designs & ALL the designs of the AMAZING DT, I am so honored to create with, in the gallery starting TONIGHT). However, I will be sharing my creations on my blog, over the next couple of days, since there are so many cards, gift ideas & pic-heavy posts, as you wait for your kit to arrive ;)
As I shared with you in the blog hops, I really wanted to challenge myself with 3 things in-particular this month:
the cupcake paper from Bella Blvd
the stick pins
and the
Cool Peri--Paint Dabber from Ranger
One of the first things I noticed about all the CupCards to go kits, is how much Sonda packs into that adorable little pizza box. She puts together every little thing you need to create 10 cards but what if you have a special occasion that month, say a birthday party, girls' fun-day party, day with Grandma, anniversary, etc? With all the amazing contents of these kits, you could create a gift/project and give a piece of YOU for your gift :) And, we, all, like to stretch our supplies & get the most out of every kit, so each month, I'd like to share a little gift idea or project that can be created with these kits, with LITTLE or NO additional supplies needed.
I decided to share my Cupcakes to go Gift Bag tonight, to share my personal "cupcake paper" challenge. I loved ALL these papers and really wanted to capture the "party feeling" I felt the minute I opened that adorable box. I felt like I wanted to go to a party right then & there & really wanted to draw that out & share that feeling with you. My wee babes LOVE to create/decorate cupcakes, especially with their Granny, so this gift is one for them to give to her, one that says, "School's out & we're ready to party Granny."
(During the blog hop this month, I gave away a blog candy with the additional supplies I used to create my gift project this month....sneaky huh? But, if you were not the winner of that blog candy, and there was only one....giggle, I will give a detailed supply list at the bottom and where I purchased my supplies, originally, (these are things I keep on-hand now :) )
Cupcakes to go Gift Bag
Close-up of Cupcake
tip #1
to create button cupcake; use Zip Dry adhesive (or any other strong liquid adhesive) to coat the top of your button, sprinkle with chocolate sprinkles, various other sprinkles, or nonpareils, let dry. Once dry, adhere heart sprinkle to front of cupcake (use toothpick to apply adhesive to back of heart, then adhere the heart to your cupcake). To create candle; use stick pin (cut round ball off with button shank remover or wire cutters), adhere flower gem, adhere candle to cupcake.
adhere bling around the cupcake
tip #2
I did not have all the letters I needed on my sheets of paper to spell "cupcake". However, I created the "E" out of a "B" & the "P" out of an "R". So if you find that you want to spell words & may not have a letter or two, look at the other letters to see if you can create one out of those. If not, draw a letter on a piece of patterened paper (backside) & cut out since they are all different patterns.
Gift Bag Includes:
6 cupcake toppers
Cupcake Papers
4 tubes of Sprinkles
You could also include a handmade cello bag of cake mix, a boxed cake mix, frosting, etc...
cupcake papers
tip #3
use the stick pins with a cut-out cupcake to "spruce up" your tulle cupcake paper ensemble

tubes of sprinkles & mini chocolate chips
The Gift Bag
This bag is an Eco-Friendly Gift Bag. I LOVE to create these sturdy gift bags out of cracker, tea, crayon, snack or any other type of boxes that the kids' snacks/supplies come in. All the snacks come in bags inside of boxes, for shipping, and the boxes never see the snacks they are housing. So, I remove the snack bags & save the boxes to create these gift bags. I have a full tutorial HERE on how to create these bags with 2 sheets of 12 x 12 cardstock or patterned paper.
